Gents 9ct gold wrist watch, 1949.

The watch has a good quality Swiss 16-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely.

The watch measures 29mm wide excluding the winding crown and 29mm high excluding the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1949, together with the maker’s mark for the Dennison Watch Case Company, a prolific manufacturer and supplier of cases to various watch companies.

The case is in good condition, just minor surface marking, but all very acceptable. The back of the watch has monogrammed initials, WHF together with the date 5-2-51.

The lens is in good condition.

The white dial has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track. The dial looks good to the naked eye. If viewed through a magnifying loupe, there are three short faint hairlines at the bottom.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
