Royal Dux porcelain originates from the Duxer Porzellanmanufaktur factory established in Duchcov, Bohemia (now Czech Republic) in 1860. The manufacturer gained international acclaim in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries for producing Art Nouveau porcelain figures, classical maidens, and rustic pastoral scenes using muted pastel glazes.

Royal Dux figures were traditionally crafted from porcelain or biscuit ceramic using slip casting techniques. The surfaces were hand-finished with characteristic matte enamels, muted pastel glazes, and occasional gilded highlights prior to firing.

Authentic antique Royal Dux items generally feature an applied pink porcelain triangular mark on the underside, often depicting an acorn surrounded by the text Royal Dux Bohemia. In addition, model numbers and painter initials are usually impressed or stamped directly into the ceramic base.

Display porcelain figures on a structured sideboard top, within a glass-fronted cabinet, or atop a fireplace mantelpiece alongside contemporary art or structured books. The soft terracotta and green tones pair effectively with neutral palettes and dark wood furniture.
