Fbb Worcester ‘Chinoiserie’ Porcelain Urn, C. 1815

Description

Fine Flight Barr and Barr Worcester porcelain urn, c. 1815. The drum shaped urn, unusually painted with a Chinoiserie scene of people in Chinese costume seated at tables, working with textiles, between flowering plants, on a Matt blue ground.

Having beaded borders, and supported by gilt tripodium lion paw feet, set upon a tricorn plinth, edged in gilt.

The interior with a continuous, stylised floral motif.

Painted script factory mark and retail address to the base.

Height: 9.2 cm, 3 5/8”.

Width: 8 cm, 3 1/8”.

Depth: 8 cm, 3 1/8”.

Condition: Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
