Description

A bold and impressive mid-Victorian period Scotch chest of drawers. Of very good construction in solid mahogany and attractive flame mahogany veneers. Of generous proportions and offered for sale in excellent original condition with a great colour and patina. Ample storage is afforded by a multitude of drawers. There is a drawer to the freeze and a further one to the plinth. The main body of the chest has 3 deep scroll fronted drawers sitting over an arrangement of 3 long graduated drawers (fitted with their charming original bun handles with mother of pearl insets). The drawers are flanked by barley twist columns and the whole chest sits on bun feet. This chest splits into 2 sections for ease of installation.
