Early 20th Century French Grape Hod

1900 - 1920
Description

An authentic French galvanized metal grape hod from Avignon. Due to mechanisation in the vineyards, these hods are now a charming relic of a bygone age. Once worn on the back and secured by leather straps, these were essential vessels for gathering the grape harvest at at vineyard. This extra sized hod is in good condition with no holes. The painting, which has been done by hand and features the Chateau Neuf Du-Pape name and crest is a contemporary addition that adds a fun decorative touch. If using for floral displays we would recommend using another container inside the hod.
