Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1880s.
The two removable inkwells are totally original to the piece and have remarkably remained in unscathed condition over the last 130 years. To one side there are two cradles acting as the pen rest, the last photograph shows a dip pen sitting, I have included the modest dip pen in the sale.
A superb piece, lovely quality, beautifully executed and in wonderful condition (minor wear to plate, mentioned purely for accuracy). Measuring 9" long x 2 3/4" wide.
