Description

A wonderful and highly decorative example of an early Victorian bread basket made from old Sheffield plate, (silver over copper) with the copper showing through in a few spots as all early plate does.

This is an exquisite example and as usable as attractive with the most stunning shape with a highly decorative rim and handles in a scroll and foliate design. The basket weave to the sides is all hand created, quite exceptional and in perfect shape.

Dating to around 1850, this superb example is in excellent condition, measuring 13" across (handle to handle) and 5" tall.
