Description

An attractive 19th century antique pair of Windsor armchairs in ash and elm. The chairs have hoop and stick backs, with a decorative central fret-pierced splat. The seats are solid elm and have a wonderful grain pattern. Each chair is raised on four turned legs with a straight ‘H’ stretcher support. This particularly pair of Windsor armchairs are of small proportions.

CONDITION REPORT:

This antique pair of Windsor armchairs are in good antique condition throughout with some signs of age and wear. There is general surface wear in places to each chair including some age-related marks (pictured). One of the Windsor armchairs has an obvious twist to the seat, causing it to ‘rock’ – this is due to the chairs being used for many, many years on an uneven farmhouse floor. Despite this, both chairs remain structurally solid and sound, with particularly pleasing colour, patina, and grain throughout.
