Antique Oak George VI Coronation Stool

A well-presented antique coronation stool made by ‘B. North & Sons of West Wycombe’ (stamped to the underside) for the coronation of King George VI. The stool has a blue fabric overstuffed seat with gold trim and is raised on four squared legs with chamfered edges. There are two metal carrying handles to the underside. It’s becoming increasingly rare to find an antique coronation stool in good condition.

CONDITION REPORT:

This antique coronation stool is in good antique condition throughout with some signs of age and wear. There is general surface wear in places including some age-related wear and fading to the fabric seat in places (pictured), but generally, remains good. The stool is structurally solid and sound. Overall, a good, neat example of an antique George VI coronation stool.
