Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Kuba cloth is a traditional textile originating from the Kuba Kingdom in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Woven using palm leaf fibres, these textiles feature distinctive geometric patterns and plush cut-pile embroidery created by skilled artisans.

These textiles are woven from the dried fibres of the raffia palm. Men traditionally weave the base cloth on handlooms, after which women execute intricate embroidered or cut-pile geometric motifs using dyed raffia threads.

Authentic pieces feature slight variations in weave density, organic colour variation from natural vegetable dyes, and hand-finished edges. Genuine mid-20th-century examples display softening of the raffia fibres and subtle patination across the surface.

A framed Kuba cloth adds visual texture to minimal, modern, or eclectic interiors. Mount it above a sideboard, in a hallway gallery wall, or as a focal piece paired with warm natural woods and neutral colour palettes.

Display the framed textile away from direct sunlight to prevent fading of the natural fibres and dyes. Dust the frame gently with a microfibre cloth, and ensure the framing utilises UV-protective glass and archival mounting materials.
