A charming primitive school oil on board depicting a ruined abbey in a landscape with figures, written label to reverse, Ruins of Jerpoint Abbey, (Ireland) in distressed rococo giltwood frame, 19th century, circa 1860. Condition: frame in distressed condition, Painting: some rub, paint lacking on row of trees, third in from the left, please see images Jerpoint Abbey is a ruined Cistercian abbey, founded in the second half of the 12th century.It has been declared a national monument and has been in the care of the Office of Public Works since 1880. Frame H 26.5 cm W 35.5 D 4.5 cm We try to describe condition as accurate as possible.
