A Large and impressive original antique French gilt bronze clock by Louis Japy. It is Baroque in style, mythical creatures support the clock on a stylised sea of scrolls.
A goddess mask to the front and sides and a large elaborate urn is mounted to the top. This is a beautifully modelled, heavy and finely detailed clock.

The dial is porcelain enamel with a gilt bronze centre. It is complete with finely cut blued steel hands and convex glass.
The French movement is by Louis Japy and is of high quality. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock running, please ask and we will send you a link.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with just some slight wear and discolouration. The dial is also in excellent condition just some tiny nibbles to the winding holes and some faint hairlines.
