Description:
Here is a good quality antique Anglo-Indian colonial Victorian solid teak dressing table mirror, circa 1870, with original mirror, in good original condition. The mirror, which is original, shows signs of foxing (please see p
...hotos), but this does not detract from the overall look of the item. We have offered this item with its original mirror, as some people prefer it to be original. However, if you prefer to have a new mirror fitted, it can be replaced for £45 (this is for a non-bevelled mirror). If you would like it to be replaced, please let us know. If you would like it to be replaced, please let us know. The angle of the mirror can be adjusted simply by tilting the mirror itself. Two original iron loops are fitted to the top rail of the mirror frame, presumably to allow the mirror to be hung on the wall, if desired. The mirror frame is raised on scroll shaped supports, finished with finely turned finials where the supports attach to the frame and terminating at the bottom on a shaped base, which in turn rests on turned pad feet.
Condition Report:
This Victorian dressing table mirror is in excellent overall original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The mirror, which is original, shows signs of foxing (please see photos), but this does not detract from the overall look of the item. We have offered this item with its original mirror, as some people prefer it to be original. However, if you prefer to have a new mirror fitted, it can be replaced for £45 (this is for a non-bevelled mirror). If you would like it to be replaced, please let us know. The frame and base have been cleaned and French polished, by hand, to a professional standard, therefore the colour and patination is of an excellent standard. The screw hinges are in good working order. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
