The inside-back is signed MYRON (the model name) HAMILTON W. CO. LANCASTER, PA. 10K GOLD FILLED S027267 S&W (the case maker). The numerals are solid 18k gold markers on sterling silver base. The case is 10k gold filled. Powered by a high-quality American-made HAMILTON 17-jewel 980 hand-wound mechanical movement. The Hamilton Watch Company produced some of the finest watches to come out of America in the early to mid 20th century. The surface of the movement bears ornate damaskeening, or ‘Geneva stripes’. This sort of aesthetic treatment tended to be used on higher-quality movements. This watch has been recently serviced and so comes to you in good working order and keeping good time.
