We are delighted to be able to offer this wonderful large solid silver box featuring a landscape scene on the top lid.

This box was is marked for 1928 with a London import hallmark with an unidentified maker AJ.

The entire box features a classic engine turned design on all four sides and the base.

Highlighting the top lid is a superb guilloché enamel scene of a country landscape with a very delicate and detailed artistic touch to the river, trees and the gradational sky colours.

Interior wise, the box features a silver gilt finish which contrasts the exterior silver colour whilst protecting the silver from tarnishing with whatever contents that may be placed within.

Due to its large scale and substantial weight, the box may be used for many purposes such as storing snuff, sweets, pills - a wonderful item to get creative with and adaptable for practical uses in addition to its aesthetic and decorative features.

The box is hallmarked on the side and thumbpiece of the lid with a London import mark, maker's mark and date mark for 1928.
