Antique Oak Monks Bench Seat

An attractive early 20th century antique oak monk’s bench seat with a decorative carved circular back rest that flips over to serve as a useful table top. The bench has open arms with turned upright supports, and a hinged seat with storage underneath. Raised on four turned uprights, with straight stretcher supports.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age and wear. General surface wear in places including age-related marks to the top and seat (pictured), but overall, good. Evidence of old historic woodworm in places, mainly to the base - this is long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. Structurally solid and sound. Overall a particularly good example of an antique oak monk’s bench having good colour and patina throughout.
