The small central drawer to the top has decorative inlaid detail and two particularly clever/unusual secret compartments. The chest is raised on bracket feet with a decorative, shaped apron.

CONDITION REPORT:
In good country antique condition throughout with various signs of age and wear. General surface wear in places including age-related marks to the top, front, and bracket feet (pictured). This antique Welsh oak chest if structurally solid and typically rather heavy. The bracket feet have had some honest repairs over the years including some strengthening. Evidence of old historic wood worm in places – this is long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. Large shrinkage gap to the top where the boards have parted over the years (pictured), and shrinkage to both sides. Overall, a particularly interesting antique Welsh oak chest of drawers with plenty of character, charm, and intrigue.
