American Federal Tiger Maple Bed, early 19th c., baluster turned posts, shaped head and turned footboard.
These beds are important examples of early 19th c American vernacular furniture using local timber.
The solid turned Maple frame is exceptionally well figured, the name comes from the striated markings which resemble those of a Tiger
This double bed is 129 cm wide 213 cm long 105 cm high to the top off finials. It is sold with the base and mattress although some buyers may which to buy their own mattress.
These beds are highly regarded in the US and are rarely found for sale outside of the Country .
