Description

A rare and collectable little Baluch rug made around the mid 19th century with knotted-pile skirts incorporating stylised creatures on either side of the chevron design. The dark-brown wool has corroded due to the wool having originally been mordanted with iron and thus corrosive. Although this can create a three-dimensional effect, the rug can look a little worn. A beautiful piece nonetheless.

Size: 1.50m x 0.84m (5' 0" x 2' 9").
