This exquisite Scottish mahogany longcase/grandfather clock hails from the splendid Victorian era. Crafted by J Wilde of Dundee, it features a striking flame mahogany veneer. The clock''s eight-day movement resides within a magnificent hood adorned with a swan neck pediment and brass finial at the centre. Flanking the arched glass door are elegantly turned columns, showcasing a painted clock face that depicts a couple beneath a tree, with vibrant spandrels illustrating the four seasons. The cream-colored dial displays black Roman numerals and includes two subsidiary dials for seconds and date. The case, enveloped in stunning flame mahogany veneers, rests on bracket feet.
