Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An antique silver travel clock is a compact, portable timepiece housed in a protective sterling silver or silver-plated casing. Often featuring a sturdy handle for transport, these clocks were created for travellers during the late 19th and early 20th centuries to keep accurate time while away from home.

Antique travel clocks commonly feature sterling silver, brass, or silver-plated metal cases paired with enamel dials and glass covers over the clock face. The movements are typically mechanical, housed securely within the metal body.

Authentic sterling silver clocks carry official assay hallmarks stamped into the metalwork, indicating the maker, silver purity standard, assay office, and year of manufacture. Additionally, original pieces display authentic mechanical movements and aged hand-finished casing details.

A silver travel clock works effectively as a decorative accent on a bedside table, writing desk, or bookshelf. Placing it alongside leather-bound books or framed photographs complements its classic metal finish.

Dust the clock regularly with a soft, dry lint-free cloth. To clean tarnish from the sterling silver casing, use a specialised silver polishing cloth, taking care not to let liquid silver cleaners seep into the clock movement or dial.
