Description

Very handsome mid 19th.c. oak desk chair c.1860. Bow-shaped and button upholstered backrest and arms with carved fronts raised on a pair of broad supports carved with scrolling leaf and plant forms. Note how the short arms allow the chair to be pulled up close to a desk. Over a generously proportioned sprung seat (height 20"). Crisply turned front legs raised on the original castors and played rear legs for stability. Upholstered in an unusual fabric with a pattern rather like peacock feathers. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Clean and serviceable covers.
