A rare survival from the late 17thc is this beautiful ''reliquary''....the lidded beech box is carved on the lid with a cross above a carved heart and bordered by flowers....you open the lid to reveal gilded scrolled paper, surrounding the reliquary, with a name written at the base....difficult to work out the name....could be in old latin or french....the much prized box and contents are in excellent original condition with the box having a superb colour and no cracks or breaks....it has been looked after and cherished very well...Continental.
