Brian MacDonald Antique Rugs & Carpets has dated this piece to the 1920s.

The other three horizontal ivory bands contain stylised dogs I guess, guarding the tribal encampment.
The front face is woven in very intricate soumak technique in what I can only say is typical Kordi design. A very charming salt-bag, once used for containing lumps of rock-salt and nuts, and made during the first quarter of the twentieth century.
Size: 50cm x 37cm (1' 8" x 1' 2").
