Early 20th Century Oriental Carved Camphor Wood Chest

1900 - 1920
Description

A very good quality early 20th century Oriental freestanding camphor wood chest with deeply carved mythical scenes, pagodas, lotus flower and female figures to the top and front with cranes to the border. The side and back have landscape scenes and the chest stands on stepped bracket feet with carved leaf motif. The chest retains its original embossed brass back plate and latch and comes with a lock and key. The interior has a lovely camphor wood aroma.
