Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco engagement rings from the 1920s and 1930s are distinguished by geometric forms, clean lines, and platinum or white gold mounts. They frequently feature hand-cut diamonds such as Old European or cushion cuts, emphasizing symmetrical structure and precision metalwork.

During the 1930s, platinum and white gold were the primary metals used for diamond settings due to their strength and neutral colour. Diamonds from this era were typically hand-faceted Old European or Old Mine cuts, secured with claw or bezel settings.

Authentic period pieces usually display hand-faceted diamonds with smaller tables, high crowns, and open culets compared to modern brilliant cuts. Period hallmarks, evidence of hand fabrication, and geometric shoulder details further aid in identifying authentic pieces.

A vintage diamond solitaire can be worn alongside modern minimalist bands or mixed metal pieces to create a tailored aesthetic. Storing or displaying historic jewellery on fabric trays or inside glass vitrines integrates these items into contemporary interior dressing spaces.

Clean the ring gently using warm water, mild liquid soap, and a soft-bristled brush to remove debris from behind the setting. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners or harsh chemicals, and arrange periodic inspections with a jeweller to check claw security.
