Fine Gilt Carriage Clock Circa 1900

1900 - 1920
Description

A good and large eight day striking and repeating alarm carriage clock. This is a very clean and original example of a good quality carriage clock. The dial with Roman numerals over a subsidiary alarm dial within a gilt mask. The movement is in perfect working order with twin hammers striking a blued steel gong giving a lovely mellow chime, on the hours, and half hours with a louder strike on the alarm setting. The backplate stamped PATENT SURETY POLLER within an oval and numbered 5096 The height is with the handle up 18 cm, 7 1/4 inches.
