regulator long case clock - CATEGORY: ANTIQUE CLOCKS - DATED VICTORIAN

Regulator Long Case Clock

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Hedley Wilson

A rare small domestic regulator.

The architectural case finished in figured and burr ash, was probably a special order, unusual at a time when mahogany was the norm, giving this clock an almost contemporary look.

The 10'' square dial , signed William Coxhead of Reading, with centre sweep seconds hand, has a fourteen day duration movement, with maintaining power, and dead beat escapement, and is consequently very accurate.
