A fine leather and canvas travelling trunk by Hill & Millard, ‘Military & Colonial Outfitters, Solid Leather Trunk And Portmanteau Manufacturers, 7 Duncannon Street, Trafalgar Square, London’.
This trunk has the name De Clercq painted onto the top, two leather straps, brass and wood fittings, a carrying handle at each end, a leather lock cover impressed with maker’s mark, and its original striped paper interior with lovely paper maker’s label on the underside of the lid.
These make lovely statement pieces and work well as low coffee tables.
Condition:
Lovely colour and patination to leather. No key. Lacks its horizontal strap to the front. Some staining to edges of paper internally.
