A superbly patinated bell shaped base spiral candlestick.
The beechwood base has developed a fabulous finish. Note the lovely turning marks to the underside of the base. The lovely original metal work can be seen poking through the base and folded over which would have been done when it wasmade around 1780/90.
These spiral candlesticks are a great design with a carrying hook to avoid wax spilling onto your hands. There is a side travellor which moves the candle up and down adjusting the height of the candle and also allowing the ends of the candles to be removed.
