Large Pair Of Japanese Silver & Mixed Metal Vases

As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this lovely quality pair of Meiji period 1868-1912 , circa 1900 solid silver vases, the vases are finely carved and depict the charming subject of  deer grazing amidst a mountainous backdrop, the deer formed from gold , the landscape painstakingly detailed with mixed metal relief work upon the silver bodies of each vase , the use of shakudo, shibuichi and copper alloys bringing to life the delightful Japanese landscape, each vase has been individually artist signed and sealed , the signature translates to read Ryosetsuken aside a seal that reads Chiku , each vase is hallmarked underneath with the Jungin (pure silver seal) , the combined weight is a hefty 56 troy ounces , clearly manufactured by an extremely competent metalworker from the Meiji period, these immaculate vases would certainly enhance your Japanese works of art collection .
