An Arts and Crafts Wardrobe and Dressing Table by Shapland and Petter of Barnstaple

Description

An arts and crafts wardrobe and dressing table by Shapland and Petter of Barnstaple. The wardrobe of breakfront outline with a flared cornice, central bevelled mirrored door, opening to reveal hanging space, flanked by further hanging space to the left and accommodation of cupboard and drawers to the right, with beautiful stylised marquetry and abalone inlaid panels throughout. The whole raised on a solid oak breakfront plinth. The matching dressing table having a central mirror flanked by stylish uprights again with stylised inlaid detail with three jewellery drawers. The base with two rectangular drawers also flanked by stylised inlaid panels, raised on square supports with block feet. English circa 1900, stamped to the locks S,B & P. The wardrobe has been newly re-lined in a silk damask.

An arts and crafts wardrobe and dressing table by Shapland and Petter of Barnstaple.
