Aramis Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
The top and lower shelf are embellished with a central medallion inlaid with boxwood and other delicate woods. The inlay adorns the curved upper part of the leg with a harebell design, very desirable in the 1880s. There is line inlay round the table, lower shelf and down the legs. The table is special as the grain of the rosewood reveals paler “tiger stripes” and the maker took advantage of this feature and incorporated the stripes into the design - they are deliberate. The table is nice and stable, an excellent example.
