Description

A most interesting and extremely good example of a trick snuff box.

The top is engraved with a garter and the name T Clapp Dec 1865.

The reverse is engraved with the name of J Clapp in an earlier style of lettering and engraved border.

Would appear to be a Christmas present from father to son?

It opens by sliding the top forwards and then the lid will open up.

Good working mechanism.

It has the feel and colour of Paktong?

The box is in overall good condition commensurate with age.
