Large Antique French Gilt Wood Mirror

Description

This very large very impressive antique gilt wood & gesso mirror has some fabulous details, but unfortunately the images do not do it justice & it really needs to be seen in person.

It’s early to mid-19th century, either French or Italian & has the original bevelled mirror, which does have a couple of scratches & a bit of spotting which is all part of the character. Please enlarge all the images to see all the details, because I couldn’t possibly mention them all. The gilding is original & naturally aged.

This mirror is very large at 72 inches wide & it took three of us to hang it. We will try to take better images without the reflections, but it’s hanging up in the shop, so it’s difficult.
