English Georgian Mahogany Jewelry Box - Conch Shell Inlay C.1795

Description

Dating to the late eighteenth century, this stunning English Jewellery box dates to around1795. Made from beautiful Mahogany the box is beautifully finished with a large conch shell inlay to the lid framed with fine ebony and boxwood stringing.

Each side has a very handsome hanging brass handle. The front has a typical Georgian diamond shape escutcheon which houses the working taselled key.

The interior has been relined in a beautiful hand marbled paper, nice and clean and ready for use. There is a removable tray, creating extra space for storage.

A stunning piece of table-top furniture in excellent condition, measuring 10" x 6" x 4" tall.
