This is an Italian Art Deco burr walnut veneered playing card or games box. It has an 800 standard sterling silver handle, and four silver playing cards to the lid. The silver handle is marked for Florence between 1934-1944, and made by Raddi Renato of Scandicci, Florence.It is of rectangular form with curved sides either side of the lid. The interior is fitted with spaces for playing cards and counters, and lined with blue velour. Inside is a Modiano cards leaflet.It looks to have been dropped on one back corner in its past as there is damage to the veneer there. Otherwise there are some small pieces of veneer missing and wear to the edges and corners, and a few scratches and marks. Otherwise it is nice and solid with hinges that work well and a lid which closes snugly.All items come with free shipping throughout the UK.
