Description

A quite exceptional large antique English jewelry or table box dating to around 1850. The two bands, diamond shaped lid inlay and escutcheon are all decorated with top quality intricate inlay with carved Ivory and Abalone shell. This inlay is framed with Tulipwood inlay and other fine stringing.

The lid opens to reveal the stunning original mirror with hand painted decoration. The box has been re-lined in a vibrant blue hand-marbled paper, perfectly in keeping, beautifully clean for it's new owner.

The box remains in exceptional condition and complete with a working key. A good impressive size, measuring 12" x 9" x 6".
