M Lees and Sons has dated this piece to the 1850s.
. Raised on a swollen turned column supported on 3 carved and shaped legs , the carved scroll feet fitted with their original brass castors.

The figured solid mahogany top secured to the block of the base with brass removable ‘thumb-screws’ held by bearers , and held in the flat position with a traditional brass ‘banjo’ shaped catch release.

The reverse of the top also being polished, being a further indication of the overall quality of the table . The shape of the top being similar to the designs recognised as those used by the renowned cabinet-making firm of Gillows of Lancaster and London.
In excellent original condition, has been cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
