An exhibition quality large onlaid bronze vase using gold , shakudo , shibuichi , copper and silver . A really good example of onlaid bronze , the banded decorations are as follows . The top border in ovals of silver and gold bamboo , 6cms deep , the shoulder border with depictions of Pheonix birds all in wonderful onlaid work of various metals , 8 cms , the supporting border is designed with six silver lined lappets showing various birds and animals , once again in the most wonderful quality . 7 cms .
We enjoy searching the world for Meiji art of this quality and carry many pieces in stock but this vase is simply a special vase .
