Description

A 19th Century Gilt Brass Pocket Barometer.

The barometer with a circular lanyard ring, above the circular and rounded edge body. The outer ring rotating the surrounding altitude dial, enclosing the main dial, showing the barometric pressure. The silvered dial engraved 'COMPENSATED FOR ALTITUDE', and the maker 'CALLAGHAN & CO. 23A NEW BOND STREE, LONDON W'.

The whole within the original silk lined, Morocco leather carrying case.

Date circa 1870.
