Description

A stunning antique Oriental, probably Chinese, embroidered panel on a back cloth of burgundy silk. The embroidery uses gold, silver and coloured thread to create a complex scene of a man, woman and young boy in a family garden scene. The panel is framed in a carved wooden frame. The colour of the silk is deep and lustrous and the detail in the thread work is remarkable. Two very minor breaks in the silk top and bottom right, which don’t detract from the beauty.
