A luminous pointillist landscape depicting a bridge over the Seine. Although is not situated, I imagine it having been painted near one of the towns to the West of Paris - Bougival, Chatou, the Ile de la Jatte - where Seurat, Sisley, Pissarro and other Impressionists used to paint.
Painted on a roughly-hewn canvas, there is some wear and losses around the edges, which however invisble under the frame. One of the photos shows the painting without its frame. Repair to the verso, not visible to the front. Unsigned, our painting is attributed to Pierre Thomas (1865-1930). Measuring 38 x 46 cm, the overall framed size is 47 x 55 cm.
