Art Deco Silver and Guilloche Enamel Letter Opener by Frederick Asman & Co, Sheffield 1933

Description

This is a stunning solid silver and guilloche enamel letter opener or paper knife. The handle with a vivid green engine-turned enamel on both sides. Mounted with a decorative ferrule and a fully hallmarked solid silver blade. It is very tactile and pleasing to use.

Hallmarks:

F.C.A.&CO for Frederick C Asman & Co.

Sheffield Assay mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letters "q" for 1933.

Condition:

Very good.

Very minor discolouration of enamel on a very small area of the end of the handle on one side.

Length: 20cm / 8 inches.

Maximum width: 1cm / 0.5 inches.
