Art Deco World has dated this piece to the 1940s.
The 10AX was manufactured from 1940 to 1942 and features a Breguet hairspring, as used on other high-end watches such as Rolex and noted for aiding more consistent timekeeping throughout the duration of the wind. This particular 21-jewel movement would have been one of Bulova’s top-of-the-range power plants of the era and is stamped with the date-code symbol for 1940. Condition is excellent having not only been recently serviced but ultrasonically cleaned and fitted with a brand new leather strap.

The outside is stamped BULOVA 10K GOLD FILLED, plus its serial number starting with ‘0’. This indicates, on a Bulova of this era and with this particular movement, a manufacture date of 1940. The inside is signed BULOVA FIFTH AVE NEW YORK.
