Walnut & Marble Top Commode 1860.

19th century
Description

Superb French marble top chest of drawers or commode c.1860. Original grey marble top with canted corners and a moulded edge over a chest of four long drawers. Particularly well figured burr walnut veneers arranged in a symmetrical pattern across the front. Shallow top drawer with shaped front continued on the sides, three deeper drawers within a moulded surround. Canted corners and raised on a moulded plinth, the front veneered to match. Solid walnut sides and oak drawer linings. Patch repair to the middle of the right hand side. Otherwise excellent colour and condition, restored cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
