A fine and decorative Victorian oval silk work picture, titled ''The Muse Of Poetry Placing A Wreath On The Tomb Of Shakespeare'', worked by Grace Wanack (Nee Stratton).
 
The finely worked image of the muse sits within an intricate floral and ribbon border, in a foliate gilt frame. There is a framer’s label for Aitken Dottson of Edinburgh, and also a handwritten label detailing the title and maker, signed M. Scott.
 
Condition:
 
The silk work is in excellent condition. The frame has an edge crack (see photo). Otherwise in greeat overall condition.
 
Dimensions:
 
43 cm high x 38 cm wide (including frame).
