Antique Sheraton Period Inlaid Mahogany Writing Table

18th century
Description

A beautiful antique writing table made from mahogany & satinwood, with an inset leather top. This dates from around 1790’s period.

It is a lovely size and is of excellent quality. The mahogany has a great patina, there is fine satin wood & ebony inlay on the top, drawer front & above the legs. The round brass handles are original with wonderful detail, the top is cross banded around the edges. The single drawer is finely dovetailed & oak lined.

We had the leather replaced, hand coloured and gold tooled. We have also had this French polished, it’s in great condition for its age.

Width – 37 inches , 93 cm

Depth – 18 inches , 46 cm

Height – 30 inches , 76 cm

Knee height – 24 inches , 61 cm
