A decorative Victorian landscape by Joseph Horlor. He was a 19th century West Country artist who specialised in coastal scenes and landsscapes of Devon, Cornwall and Wales.

He is first recorded as living in Bath, later moving to a studio in Bristol where the majority of his work was produced. He has a most distinctive style and is known for the freedom of his brush-work and the harmony and delicacy of his colours.

Exhibited between 1834-1866 at the British Institution and the Suffolk Street Gallery London.
The Bristol City Museum & Art Gallery hold examples of his work in their permanent collection as do the National Trust and the Holbourne Museum in Bath.

Condition is good.
Presented in an mid twentieth century frame with oval mount.
