Pair of Art Deco Silver & Enamel Topped Perfume Bottles

1920 - 1940
Description

A fabulous pair of Art Deco glass perfume bottles with silver and pink guilloche enamel tops. These fluted, oval shaped bottles have screw tops with a sunburst and checkered design and are hallmarked Birmingham 1932. Both bottles retain their original glass stoppers.

The condition is good, there is a minute nibble to the base of one bottle, this is hardly noticeable and is not visible when standing.

A beautiful duo to bring 1930's glamour to the present day.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco vanity items from the 1920s and 1930s typically feature bold geometric shapes, clean vertical fluting, and engine-turned guilloche enamel over sterling silver mounts.

High-grade lead crystal or heavy cut glass formed the body, while the closures were frequently crafted from sterling silver, solid gold, or silver gilt topped with translucent enamels.

Authentic pieces feature precise machine-engraved patterns beneath translucent enamel, alongside official silver hallmarks indicating the assay office, maker, and year of production.

They are ideal for display on a vanity tray, a marble bathroom counter, or a bedside table to add geometric texture and subtle colour.

Clean gently with a soft dry microfiber cloth, avoiding submersion in water which can compromise the enamel backing or damage interior silver collar seals.
